We run a tight shift at Boozt so to do the Paris pre-sring and resort collections we took out one day this Tuesday – Ms. Åman Afrouz our Category Manager Womens Contemporary and Denim and I left early from our home cities Stockholm and Copenhagen and arrived with one hours difference in Paris Charles de Gaulle. For the first time I tried to use my favorite driver service add Uber and also from the airport it works like a dream.
The first stop of the day was the new showroom of Tomorrow Ltd. the have moved to a new and bigger place in rue de Lappe close to the Bastille and Canal Saint Martin – the group now are agents or distributions for more then 100 premium and luxury brands. We started out with the New York based Rebecca Minkoff we are doing great with her line of bags, and toke in new colors in icon styles the Mini Mac, the Mini 5 Zip, the Quilted Mini Affair and off course also some new seasonal fashion items, we are staring to see of bucket bags and rucksacks in women’s bags for a more casual look. Ms. Minkoff has always been great with smaller bags but is now also doing well with totes.
Next in line was Markus Lupfer and now Ms. Åman Afrouz had join me. Mr. Lupfer is know for this amazing cashmere knits with big sequins embroideries especially lips are a favorite. Mr. Lupfer got his inspiration from Africa for the pre-spring collection the animals of the jungle and tribal patterns turned in to embroideries and prints in strong colors. The brand is growing on me every time we work with the collections and comes together for me better as a clear idea of fashion with a twist.
The final collection for us in the Tomorrow Ltd. showroom is the blogger favorite brand Tibi New York, the collection this time had a nautic feel to it and much bring the most elegant sailors to sea in the spring of 2015. Tibi has amazing dresses and sets easy to dress for a day at work and jet perfect to dress up for a night on the town.
Our day in Paris is run by Mørch Fashion that we work close with among others to get a great premium selection of international brands for Boozt. Ms. Hargreave is always a great support for us, so we jumped into an Uber car and went for a quick lunch at the Hotel Costes normally everything works like a clockwork jet a bit slow in an elegant Parisian way. Our visit ended with Ms. Åman Afrouz and I in yellow dots a bit to small to be of the runway from the Kenzo menswear show and smelling a little of dijon mustard, the waiter that dropped a tray with tableware did his best to get us clear for the rest of the day, but management did not live up to the normal elegant way of handling their guests.
The afternoon was spend in want much be one of the most hectic showrooms in Paris at the moment that of MSGM, it is like being at the first opening of your favorite brand and you have to fight for the limited among of pieces available – you just have polite asians bowing before running with your selection just as you are ready to work with it. The brand have just confirmed the first shipment for Boozt so in about 3 weeks time we will have the pre-fall live. Apart from a fantastic collection the MSGM showroom also meant meeting a treasured colleague from my first years at Danish department store Magasin du Nord as Brand Manager for private label Bakito Ms. Kamp from Dutch department store de Bijenkorf, she is now buying premium women’s collections and we planned a dinner next time we are in Paris.
After the meeting with MSGM Ms. Åman Afrouz left for the airport going back to Stockholm, Ms. Hargreave and I managed to meet with a possible new brand hopefully more about that later. The final meeting of the day was with Schumacher the German brand now has its our showroom in Paris and is ready stepping up it presence on the international fashion scene. After a ride through a very busy Paris we only had 15 minutes left for the meeting, but lucky we could meet again in Berlin the coming week during Berlin Fashion Week.
The Paris day ended as it stared in a Uber back to Charles de Gaulle on a plane back to Copenhagen and bed.
