Since I my preteens, I had a pretty good idea want I wanted to do in my adult life. I wanted to be in Fashion. My uncle Jørgen was a buyer at Danish Department Store Magasin du Nord and I join for a work day the first time when I was 10, spending a day in mens knitwear folding lambswool sweater and serving customers they most have been quite surprised seeing Danish child labor. I was sure that I would be a buyer there one day if I din’t follow my other fashion hero Mr. Erik Mortensen to Paris and the world of Haute Couture and Prêt á Porter a the house of Pierre Balmain. Mr. Mortensen gave me my first live Haute Couture experience when he invited my for a the daily showing a 3 PM, that all member of Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture gave at that time. I was 15 year old some my pure dad had to go to Paris with me and for a man that thinks the sole purpose of cloth is to keep warm except everything purple his favorite color, it was a tough day.
Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture has changes their guidelines and the daily 3 PM presentations are gone and so are many of the French Couture collection, now the Syndicale allows other house to show during the week of Couture in July and January. It is still a great show of craftsmanship but has turn in to a Marketing tool for many of the Houses and customers are few.
Inspired by were you more often will se the collections worn Victor & Rolf took the Red Carpet to an new level using it for their collection, interesting but I hope not to see to many of the worn. So the also inspired me and here are my selection of red red carpet outfits some more interesting then wonderful and one from Capri and not Paris.
