Some years ago on a trip to New York with Mr. Graae, I fund the most amazing photography art book by photographer Mr. Michael Kenna and as I was planning Mr. Graae’s Christmas calendar I bought it. The book is call Hokkaido and futures the rough winters and nature of Northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, printed on uncoated Japanese paper using a special black ink. The book is designed by Japanese designer Mr. Hideyuki Taguchi bound in thin maple wooden boards and covered by a special slipcase. It was published in 2006 coinciding with a major exhibition of Mr. Kenna’s work showing at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.
