The last fashion week of the Spring/Summer 2015 was full of conflicts fake and real. I nearly didn’t go due to the strike by the Air France pilots but was lucky to have booked a seat on the only Air France plane that left Copenhagen to Paris this Monday. I had two great day with Ms. Åman Afrouz buying the Dorothee Schumacher in their beautiful new show room in the Marais and the great Rebecca Minkoff bags, Markus Lupfer and Tibi in the Tomorrow Group Ltd. show room and finally the MSGM collection was taken over by the most amazing stripes and birds.
On Tuesday morning der Kaiser Mr. Lagerfeld gave his vision of a demonstration on Chanels very own Boulevard inside Le Grand Palais, I most say he is a genius and a brilliant concept maker, creating a new strory for Chanel several times a year. But with the greatest respect to Mr. Lagerfeld – My focus was on the very real demonstration taking place Wednesday late afternoon in the La Chapelle des Louanges at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts about a hundred people decided to show their dissatisfaction with the French government changing the aid to artists in France by having a sit-down on the runway of Mr. Yde.
After some hours where it look like the show had to be cancelled the mope agreed to leave the runway after a speech that didn’t get any positive reaction from the audience. The Yde collection was worth the wait it was a stunning show with inspiration from Japanese art with amazing flower and calligraphy like prints and some of the most beautiful sleeves ever seen playing with the arms of the models in the most elegant way. Mr. Yde and his team did an amazing job and he proved that he belongs at the Paris Fashion Week.
After the show Ms. Mondrup, the fantastic Danish jeweler Ms. Rebekka Notkin toke of to Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris for cocktails with Harper’s Bazaar, what an amazing assembly of chic people and great food in what most be the new place to show yourself in town.
