Saturday on the other hand the 50’s gave a lift to the Bournonville classic Napoli at the Royal Danish Theater the much loved ballet got new life in the interpretations of Ballet Master Nikolai Hübbe and Sorella Englund, the new music for the 2. act by Louise Alenius with near “Lord of the Rings” feel to it and the fantastic color palette and Fellini like scenery by Set & Costume Designer Maja Ravn. For this Production even the well known and signature of the Royal Danish Ballet 3. act got an update and is still a joy of classic Bournonville in a new and amazing wrapping. This has truly been a great season for the ballet, with a fantastic Neumeier Romeo & Julie, a standing ovation for Manon and now this visit to Italy in the 50’s. Mr. Graae and I now only have a guest appearance by Dansk Danseteater left of a truly great season.
