Copenhagen has got a new resturant and a new possiblity to view the City and I had to keep it a secret for you unto today. My close friend Mr. Sabro Jensen got a year older yesterday and his partner Mr. Sabro Petersen surprised him with dinner at Tårnet “The Tower” in Christiansborg Palace the parliament buildings tower. It opened last Wednesday inspired by the restaurant and roof terrace at the Reichtag in Berlin.
Mr. Sabro Petersen and I visited the tower and the viewpoint last Wednesday, you have to enter by the front gate facing the canal and go through security then up with to different elevators that only have room for six, then you are in the most amazing room filled casts and models all relevant to the palace and the towers history, the tower was build in as part of the third and present Christiansborg Palace and was completed in 1928.
We went to the viewpoint that gives you a great view of Copenhagen that has not been possible for the public before.
Finally we booked a table for the surprise birthday dinner yesterday. I have just talked to Mr. Sabro Jensen and it was a fantastic evening manly do to the company. The restaurant still have some fin turning to do both with the service and the salt. The Sabros had the 2 course menu at 325 DKK and went with a starter and a main course:
Tartare of Danish beef with tarragon mayonnaise, crisp onion and horse radish.
Cured, roasted Danish chicken breast with peas, grilled romaine lettuce and parsley glace. Served with mashed potatoes with peppery bacon and onions boiled with vinegar.
They finish off in Tivoli with ice-cream for dessert
Here is a great film presenting the idea of the tower, sorry it is only in danish.
