The seasons are moving in the fashion world and now finally also for the Nordic market, the retail seasons in Nordic retail have been very long to adapt to the new flow of retail with pre-collections as seen in the Luxury Market and international collections forever and gives the retailer a more stable margin and the customers newness more often. So now fall starts as early as mid May and spring end October.
This week really shoots this of for me with the first full day of buying pre-spring from one of our big partners at Boozt the Ralph Lauren group that we a proud to work with for the Nordic market and carry many of their brands.
Today we visit them in their fantastic office and showroom in Stockholm near “Dramaten” The Royal Swedish Playhouse on Nybroplan where the Playhouse from 1788 has been placed since 1908. Ones in Stockholm for leisure I most find time to visit and see some Strindberg, Ibsen or Norén.
We started at 9 am with Polo Ralph Lauren women the collection will hit the stores and Boozt in the late August and we are very proud to be part in the launch of this the line, the collection is very true to the Polo look. When we have these full days of buying from our biggest partners we not only have the tools that our amazing merchandising team makes but also bring one of them to help and guide use to make the best and most profitable selection and my partner in crime for the Ralph Lauren brands is our Head of Merchandising Mr. Lindeborg, we always work hard and have good teamwork getting the best for Boozt.
Because the line is still very new some times there are small changes to the plan, so we could only pick the key looks and the color ranges for the different drops in the pre-spring 2015 collection and then we will have to finallize the orders in the office after the line opening i Milan this Friday.
We are doing alot to improve our selection of children wear and our new Category Manager Ms. Søe Larsen has already done a great deal of work on the children wear department so we spend some extra time working with the Ralph Lauren Childrens collection with focus on tweens and newborns. The collection are very true to the Ralph Lauren DNA and pick-up the best parts of all the lines from the mens and womens brands. So you can see the whole world of Ralph Lauren by working with the children line.
After the always well served lunch, we stared working with Polo Ralph Laurens menswear. We focus on the Snow Polo collection and the Jamaican part of the pre-spring collection.
The Snow Polo collection is inspired my the partnership Ralph Lauren has with the St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow on worn by the Ralph Lauren team and shows the brands great relations to fine sports.
The vibrated colors of Mr. Laurens Jamaican Ranch broad alot of life into the pre-spring collection and will warm up many customers when it comes into stores in october.
We also had the opportunity to test my favorite “click to ride” app Uber and it works perfect in the taxi jungle of Stockholm.
